Is Thinking Generated by the Brain?
Four arguments for thinking not being generated by the brain, with profound implications for AI and consciousness.
In preparation for our 2026 Conference, MysTech is convening a panel discussion on the concepts of sub-nature and super-nature — terms that will weave through the online conference, August 6–9. In this webinar, our panelists will explore how these forces apply to our modern world and why we need to become aware of them, as Rudolf Steiner described.
Doug Smith, Donna LaPre, Ralf Tita, Aleodor Lazarescu, Robert McKay, and Andrew Linnell — six voices bringing together physics, cymatics, consciousness studies, the meditative path, and Anthroposophical research to examine forces at work above and below ordinary nature.
This conversation lays the ground for Facing the Incarnation of Ahriman, our annual conference taking place online August 6–9, 2026. Joining us for this panel will deepen your engagement with the conference themes — and is open to anyone, whether or not you plan to attend the conference itself.

Andrew Linnell serves as president of the Boston branch of the Anthroposophical Society and is a member of its Natural Science Section. He retired from a 42-year career in the computer industry in 2013 wherein he had worked as CTO and VP for various companies. He is the father of three and the author of two children's books, three art history books, and nine MysTech study guidebooks.
Scientist & Lecturer
Doug Smith, Ph.D., is a scientist and lecturer whose work spans consciousness studies, light in living systems, resonance and spirituality, and the confrontation of Ahrimanic influences in modern science. He has presented across multiple MysTech conferences, exploring topics including Technology and Consciousness, Life, Resonance and Spirituality, Transhumanism's Challenge, and Light as a Driver in Living Systems.

His work approaches the living aspects of the world through sound visualization, contributing a unique experiential and scientific perspective to MysTech's exploration of formative forces.
Waldorf Educator, Trainer & Engineer
Aleodor Lazarescu lives in Bucharest, Romania, where he helps lead and teach the Waldorf Preschool Teacher Training Course. A former Waldorf student himself, he is a trainer specializing in Waldorf education, anthroposophy, anthropology, and technology, as well as an engineer and translator.
