Arthur Bay is a master violin maker. Although he was born in Scotland in 1957, his workshop is in Hamburg, Germany which is now his country of residence. He attended the Rudolf Steiner School of Edinburgh . Some 50 years ago he left Scotland to do an apprenticeship in Violinmaking. As a young master violin maker, he was commissioned to build Stringed Instruments following the ideas of Thomastik. His research has been on original instruments by Thomastik and his pupil Karl Weidler.
